Driving Climate Action through Southeast Transportation Electrification
Turning Point will drive Southeast transportation electrification to increase EV’s market share to 50% of new vehicles and reduce annual CO2 emissions by 50 million tonnes by 2030.
Transportation electrification is lagging in the Southeast: Plug-in vehicles captured 8% of California’s new vehicle market in 2018, but their market share ranged from 1.2% in Virginia to 0.4% in Alabama.
Turning Point will build a coalition to accelerate equitable transportation electrification in the Southeast, reaching 50% of new passenger vehicle sales, nearly all fleet vehicles and buses, and a growing share of trucks by 2030.
